In my early days with the SEGA Master System I was introduced to R-Type. A great space shumup (shoot-em-up). These type of games have you flying a space ship, normally left to right, and shooting everything that comes on the screen, which are normally accompanied by hundreds of bullets. They are often frantic and tough as nails. The SEGA CD had several great shumups and today I pop in one that I’ve owned since the original release. Silpheed! This game has some amazing graphics for the time and I figured I needed to get warmed up again so I can review it soon. And so I jumped into my Silpheed fighter and punched the thrusters.
A great SEGA CD shooter with some impressive polygon graphics.
