Power Stone is a classic 3D fighting game developed by Capcom, initially released in arcades in 1999, and then on the Dreamcast console on September 9 of the same year. A PSP version was released later on October 31, 2006. The game is set in the 19th century, where people obsessed with legends, myths, and superstitions search for a treasure that can make their wildest dreams come true. The Power Stone, the ultimate treasure, is the focus of their quest. Players select a character and engage in battles against other characters in various locations.

The gameplay in Power Stone centers around 3D fighting, where players use special attacks and can pick up objects like tables, chairs, rocks, and bombs to use as weapons. During battles, Power Stones, which resemble gems of different colors, appear in the arena. If a player collects three Power Stones, their character transforms into a more powerful version of themselves, allowing them to execute a more potent special attack.

The powered-up mode lasts until the character’s power bar is fully drained, during which the character can execute one of two super special attacks, a massive long-range power attack, or a grab/close-range move. Additionally, lesser special moves can be executed that only use a small portion of the power. Each match continues until the life bar of one of the two characters fighting is depleted.

Power Stone features 10 playable characters, including Edward Falcon, Wang-Tang, Ryoma, Ayame, Rouge, Jack, Gunrock, Galuda, Kraken, and Valgas. Despite its popularity, the game series has been absent for a long time. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a remastered collection of Power Stone 1 and 2, as well as a new Power Stone game.

Overall, Power Stone is a timeless classic that combines a unique 3D fighting experience with an intriguing storyline and engaging characters.
