One might think two culturally intertwined forms of entertainment such as Rap and Basketball would integrate into a solid game, but Rap Jam: Volume One proves otherwise. The roster of players includes such colorful and diverse rappers as Coolio, Queen Latifah, House of Pain, Onyx and Warren G, but most bear little resemblance to their real-life counterparts, sporting poor detail, animation, and control that feels like they're dribbling in a hockey rink. Musically, Rap Jam is a letdown with hip-hop stylized music that simply comes off as obnoxious and inappropriate. Championship and Challenge modes are included, and up to five players can compete simultaneously, but few will find it worth the time.
