Online Chess Kingdoms features a variety of single- and multiplayer options, a "Story" mode, and a quick game of "Speed Chess." For single players, "Story" mode requires gamers to choose between five chess sets that represent five warring factions. Gamers pick from such regimes as magicians, an aquatic race, cybernetic beings, forest spirits, and servants of chaos. Each race includes unique animations displayed as pieces are won and lost.
