Welcome to the Power Supply section. With SEGA having about 100 different systems available we ended up with a bunch of different power supplies. In this section I will list each one and which units it will work with.
NOTE: When it comes to power supplies, the two areas that are of the most concern are VOLTS OUTPUT and AMPS OUTPUT. The VOLTAGE should always be the right amount for the system you are hooking up (most systems list their requirements on the bottom). The AMPS on the other hand you have a little leeway with, you can safely use a power supply that provides MORE amps than the system requires, but not (much) fewer AMPS. So if your system wants .85 amps, it would be OK to use 1.2 amps, as the system can adjust its needs.

MK-3025
For use with SEGA Master System
INPUT: 120V AC 60Hz 15W
OUTPUT: 9V – 1.0 A
This is the power supply for the original SEGA Master System, also known as Power Base.

New Replacement 1602 Power Supply
Over at the Trog Shop we have a great replacement power supply for the MK-1602.
High Quality SEGA Genesis – Model 1 replacement power supply for the SEGA MK-1602 AC Adapter. It also works with the SEGA CD 1 & 2 and the SEGA Master System

MK-1602
For use with SEGA GENESIS 1, CD 1, CD 2
INPUT: 120V 60Hz 35W
OUTPUT: 9V – 1.2 A (1602-1: 10V – 1.2 A)
This is a good power supply to have. This is used for the Original Genesis and both versions of the SEGA CD. There are 2 or 3 different cases for the unit, but they all work the same. And a version 1602-1 which outputs 10v but works for all. It is also known as the “Black Tip”, referring to the plug color.

MK-2103(-1)
For use with SEGA Genesis 2, 32X
INPUT: 120V 60Hz 15W
OUTPUT: 10V – .85 A
The “Yellow Tip” power supply. This power supply was packed in with the SEGA Genesis 2 and 32X. It will also work with the GAME GEAR and NOMAD portable units. 2103-1 was packed with the GAME GEAR, it has the same specs. There are 2 or 3 different cases for these units, but they all work the same.

MK-1479
For use with SEGA Genesis 3
INPUT: 120V 60Hz 7W
OUTPUT: 10V – .3 A
This was made for the third and final model of the SEGA Genesis. This one was actually licensed to MAJESCO to manufacture. This unit is smaller than all the others (even though I enlarged to same size on this site).
With its low amperage it will not work for any other systems.

MK-4122
For the SEGA CDX
INPUT: 120V 60Hz 23W
OUTPUT: 9.5V – 1.5 A
This power supply is hard to find and is the ONLY one you should use with the SEGA CDX. The Genesis 2 MK-2103 will fit but is under powered. I personally have seen it cause problems, and when you drop down the cash for a SEGA CDX., you don’t want to burn it out by using the wrong power supply! I wouldn’t use it for anything else either.
MADE FOR:

AA-S95J
For the JVC X’EYE
INPUT: 120V 25W
OUTPUT: 9.5V – 1.5 A
This power supply is also hard to find. This baby has the same specs as the CDX power supply and may work with it also. But not the same connector. So this is only good for the X’Eye (and not easy to find). Sorry about the crappy pic, I’ll clean it up soon.

2-Prong Plug
For the SEGA Saturn and Dreamcast.
You can find one of these standard cords almost anywhere. You probably have one in your garage right now. The only thing you need to watch out for is the Original SEGA Saturn (oval buttons). This unit did not have the notches you see between the two prongs. It came with the same looking cord except it was smooth across the 2 prongs, and will not fit into the second Saturn or Dreamcast because the unit itself has the notches on the port.
